We worked on our outboard and we got the tilt to go up but the trim would not go down. We are not sure if maybe we have to bleed it or something in order to get the motor to trim down. If anyone has any suggestions please let us know. We would really appreciate it.

Thanks!

raise it, safety bracket in place and top off the fluid.
try to lower it, put pressure on it to see if you can help push it down.
It will self bleed if you cycle it a few times up down.

can you hear the pump when trying to lower it?

Also, look on your tilt unit. on the right side facing you. You will see a inset with a screw in it. un- screw it and slowly un- screw it till starts to fall. This is your manual tilt. This will drop your motor. Don't open the screw directly on the hydrolic cylinder at this time. Only open this screw when the engine is in the up position with the safety lever is flipped downward and your motor is resting on it. Otherwise do what I mentioned to manually lowering your engine. Be sure when you crack the screw to open. Don't do it fast. The motor will drop fast. Good Luck.
