I have an 87 model 88hp evinrude non oil injected outboard. It sat for about three years. Did the usual (clean carbs, drain fuel, chase the mice out, etc), took it out and had it running pretty well, but it was getting some water up under the powerhead and when I pulled it out of the river it seemed like 10 gallons of water ran out of the motor. I'm going to drain the lower unit today to check for water, but I think it will be fine. Any ideas anyone?
