Hey all,
I can give the model # when i get home if need be, but here's my problem...
I'm replacing the water pump. i pulled the lower unit and the drive shaft stayed in the head and the shift shaft came down with the lower unit. i've tried to pull down on the drive shaft, but it doesn't come down. The Secor(sp) manual says it should just pull down with the lower unit after removing 3 bolts and shifting into forward while turning the prop.
I think i need the drive shaft down b/c i have to insert a key for the impeller on the notch on the shaft.
Any ideas on how to get the drive shaft down? HELP

There is nothing mechanical holding it back. It is probably rusted into the power head. I would flip it upside down and pour a little of your favorite penetrating oil down the shaft every night for a week or so and then do your best to pull it free. If that won't work your going to need to pull the power head and get at the connection. Best of luck. Rick.
