Guys watch this link please.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJFs-uOvTuU&feature=channel_page

I have bought this boat and outboard but what is the problem?

Is the S/S too high, revs to 5500, testing tomorrow in open water.

"New plugs, 0.03 gap, fully charged battery, 2 day old fuel, 50.1 mix using a baby bottle for accuracy. Carb additive."

Only tomorrow will tell.

I know where the s/s is but that is only part of a fuel issue, I believe?

Many thanks,

Ian.

Re: Johnson 30hp slight misfire

I ended up taking it to a Johnson mechanic and had it overhauled.

The problem now appears to be a slow speed of 8 knots (2up, 16ft day cruiser) and WOT of 2500 revs.

If I am not mistaken then there are approx 2000 revs missing?

Hmm. If you took this to a reputable Johnson mechanic and you are only getting 2500 rpms at WOT, I would take it back to him/her. There are all kinds of things that could cause this such as bad compression, poor spark, and a dirty carburetor.
