Does anyone know the initial low speed needle setting on a 2002 Johnson 115 hp 2-stroke engine?

My engine Starts Great, Idles Great, Runs Great; my problem is in the transition from low speed to high. It sound ,feels like it drops a cylinder before taking off on all 4 cylinders.

This all started when I was trying to lean it out a bit.

Typical starting point for idle/low speed jets is 1 to 1-1/2 turns out from a LIGHTLY seated stop. You also need to adjust them with the motor in the water. Using muffs does not create the needed back pressure to set them correctly.

On your 115, the starting point is about 5 turns out. It will sometimes be as high as 6 turns at times.

Be sure the linkage synchronization is correct and that the spark advance starts at the same time the throttles start to open.

Use a service manual or a trained tech to get the adjustments correct.
