Johnson 40HP age please

Hey .. Great website so much information great job.
I am new to boats and I have recently bought a boat with a Johnson 40hp oil injected model , but I have no idea of the year -- I have pored over your web site trying to find info but nothing so far ,,,,,,
The sticker on the leg has a serial number G03924199 but the model number is illegible, the aluminium welch plug on the motor also reflects the serial number not the model number .
Any help would be appreciated with the serial number G03924199

you will have to contact a dealer they are the only one with access to serial numbers.

try using a paper and pencil and trace over it. Maybe that will give you the model number
