My 2000 130 hp ocean pro johnson will sound the overheat alarm & light after
running under load for about 10 minutes. The engine is running at 130-138
degrees.What is the problem?
If you are sure it is the overheat and not fuel restriction, check the heat sensors as per your manual. How are you verifying the temp? May be a t stat stuck shut.
i did verify temp properly last night under load with temp gun. It is in fact overheating on the port side. Tapped on the theremostat cover & temp gradually went down. Possibly a sticking thermostat ???
