johnson 48 hp tilt assist

my tilt assist has broke where the cable connects to the bottom of the cylinder.have no idea how to repair or replace valve in cylinder.need help for a solution.are these repairable?

Hi Pete,
I had issues with my unit last year - luckily it turned out to be a damaged cable.
According to the manual, Quote- "these units come as a complete assembly, & no parts are available....Do not attempt to disassemble any part of hydraulic unit".etc, etc..... injury risk from high pressure.
Is it the valve stem that has broken on you????
Looks like a replacement unit is needed....but I,d be interested to hear if anybody else here has sucessfully managed to service this part.

yes the valve stem has broke.already replaced cable.very poor design
