7.5 h/p johnson bogs out with motor hood on

Hi everyone new here I have a 1884 johnson 7.5 h/p motor runs beautifuk with engine hood off. Then when I put motor hood back on it starts bogging down like i pulled the choke out vent in hood is clear no foam on inside of cover any ideas would be great thankyou all for your time have a great day

I'm not familiar with that particular motor, but the symptoms are very common on some other motors. It is caused by exhaust gasses getting under the hood. Now all you have to do is find out how it is happening.

EDIT: You wouldn't happen to be running it in a barrel would you? Motors won't run in a barrel with the hood on.

Hey captain i am running it in a barrel i dident know it wouldent run in a barell
with hood on thanx so much for the tip and have a good evining
