Hello,

I would like to know what the circled part is called and where I might be able to purchase one.

It is a late 50's Johnson motor that has been adapted to a teleflex style cable with rack and pinion.

I think I have seen this referred to as a 'heim' ??

Any help will be much appriciated !!

I believe that is an old Morse steering system? Morse called that part a rod end. Some might call it a ball joint. Morse was bought out by Teleflex. Try a marine dealer. They all have access to Teleflex.

Or try their national retail parts distributor, Charman Enterprises. charment.com/

kinda looks like a tie rod end that you would find on a fourwheeler or snowmobile. if you know someone that has a junk one in the back yard ask if you can "recycle" some parts. probably wont be the same thread but ya might get lucky
