THIS OLD 3 HP MOTOR WAS GIVIN TO ME BY MY FATHER...IT REQUIRES A SAE 30 OUTBOARD OIL AT 8oz PER 1 GALLON OF GASOLINE..CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT OIL WOULD BE GOOD TO USE BECAUSE I CANT SEEM TO LOCATE THIS...WOULD A TCW3 BE OK AND AT WHAT MIXTURE RATIO? THANKS....OH AND I DID NOT MEAN TO YELL MY CAPS LOCK IS STUCK ON THIS COMPUTER....THANKS

Yes, use TC-W3 oil and at 8 oz per gallon (128 oz us) it's 16:1 ratio. It's gonna be smokey!

With the newer oils you can lean that out a bit to 24:1, but no leaner than that. That motor must have a certain volume of oil in the mix to act as a sealant and as a cushioning agent on the bronze babbit bearings...

The model name is "Lightwin", not "Lightning" - Lightning was a Mercury model name. :)

thanks...how do i find out the year model and parts for this thing...i just broke the recoil starter spring....the numbers are 3026-08217
