1930 4 h.p. johnson

o have been working on a 1930 4 h.p. johnson.how were these motors cooled? I DO NOT HAVE ANY TYPE OF REPAIR MANUAL OR EXPLODED DRAWING TO REFER TO. PLEASE REPLY IF YOU KNOW HOW THESE MOTORS WERE COOLED.

Welcome to iboats.

That would be a model A-50? I don't see a water pump in the parts diagrams, so my guess is that the propeller forces it into a water intake behind it.
