after engine is run for a while and is good and warm one cylinder cuts out from time to time.
replaced plugs and checked ignition wires, seem o.k. Cuts out more often when extra load is on battery, such as activating power tilt. HELP!

check your coils. if crack leaking, one of them could be getting hot and failing.

check the points they should be set at .010 new
and .012 used if they need cleaning do not file
use something like a business card to clean them
with and if that does not solve your problem have
the cd amplifier checked they sometimes will cause the engine to miss when they are about to go out. hope this helps you.

I was under the impression that the points gap was .0200. But I'll take your word for the .0100. The ignition system has no amplifier, but a car coil instead. My feelings are that it may be distributor related. I'll certainly try the points routine this weekend and let you know the results. Thanks for the advice.

Yes a car coil, seems the previous owner got tired of replacing the amplifier and converted the ignition system from semi electronic back to conventional points/coil setup.
