I wonder if somebody can explain to me how the trim indication meter works, my Evenrude 225 VRO (1989) motor's trim /tilt works fine both on the throtle mechanisn as well as push buttons on the the motor.the meter seems to be working in reverse???, when the trim controll on the throttle is used, the meter kicks but does not indicate the correct motor possition, this particular motor's trim mechanism has three " pistons " what is the functions of these pistons. I have looked for a "sender unit" of sorts but cannot find anything, This is my first evenrude motor and any help will be greatly appreciated,Kind regards William Wright.

Two are trim cylinders and the one center one is for tilt.Look on the underside of the engine on the inner area of mounting bracket, port side for the T/T sending unit.
