I am in the process of buying a new motor. I am leaning toward the new E-Tech. I'm looking for any input on this motor from people that have dealt with them. Reliability and performance are my main concern. The cost is up there with the 4 strokes but the weight isn't and weight is also a big concern when running in 3" of water. Thanks for any replies.

This is the 3rd year of production for the E-TEC engines. They are proving to be reliable and there are a lot of them out there. Australia is second to the US in the number of E-TECs worldwide.

I heard they are pretty quite also. The fuel and oil consumption is suppose to be low. I hear they run something like 100-1 ratio with very little smoke. I'm just wondering how they do with a jet unit on them. Thanks
