I have this (1996) 48 hp Johnson, Great motor! I have a question Regarding my remote control on my console. This is a Johnson command center remote & is older than the motor. I suspect about the middle 80's. When I first crank the motor I raise the fast idle arm, BUT it does not increase the throttle for fast idle cold start. So it is a little hard to keep motor going when it's cold. Lucky for me, this motor starts easy. WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO ADJUST THE FAST IDLE? I took the throttle shifting arm & side cover off. AND could find no adjustments there.
Any help out there?
Thanks !! JACK

Clock,

We have no idea what contol you have.

If it is a standard OMC control, you simply raise the warm up lever.

If it is a "generic" control, the typical method is to push IN on the contol lever hub. That releases the control from the gear shift. From there, you can adjust warm up speed.
