Hello
Picked up a boat with an evinrude 50 horse E50ELCSR I think 1980. With 2 people no prob with 4 wouldn’t plane and was very slow. The trim was back as far as it goes toward the transom. Does this mean not enough power or something else? Does anyone know if this motor has a good reputation? The boat sat for 2 years and started right away probably a good sign. It seemed to use a lot of gas for only 20 min. in the water. Any suggestion?
Thank you
Rob

roboat, does your boat have a rating plate on it? If it is rated for 100 HP or more, the 50 won't move it very well with that load.If it's rated for 50 HP,but the 4 people weigh in at 325 lbs.each, same thing. Most boats seem to be rated for 6 people, but they have to weigh about 130 lbs. each.Go figure.

DHP
