While inspecting a gap between the water intake & the screen I noticed the lower bearing set screw position & it looked as though it was out awful far. I have no idea as to how far it is to be screwed in & would like advice as to its proper screw-in depth

Its suposed to be screwed down tight. Seloc manual says it must be removed in order to remove pinion bearing.

Good Luck!

In other words - don't take it out - screw it up and leave it solid.

If you're speaking of the "allen Screw", that is a lower driveshaft bearing retaining screw. It must be inserted with a coating of LocTite and screwed in so that it is flush with the lower unit surface.

ReevesJ32@aol.com
