Hi,
Is it possible to convert a 2003 90hp FICHT to premix?
It states in the Clymer manual that it can be done and lists the procedure but I have since been told that this is for earlier NON fuel injection engines and that fuel injected models cannot be converted.
Can anyone help clarify this please?

No it cannot be converted to pre-mix. This is because no fuel passes through the crankcase on that motor So The Bearings And Crank Will Not Be Lubed.. If you try to pre -mix the fuel your motor will have a life expectancy of minutes. Leave the oil system alone on that motor.

Clymer manuals are notoriously inaccurate and make good knee pads (Haynes and Seloc are just as bad). Get a factory manual

I should add that the reason i was considering converting to premix is because the oil pump is not returning oil to the tank. the lines are not blocked and so are there any other common reasons for this that I should look for?
Thanks again for your help.
