I picked up this Evinrude for a winter project. Previous owner said it was a '90 150 but since there are no markings I want to make sure I'm using the right service manual.

It has a metal plug marked R8571969

Thanks :)

You could call BRP customer service with that # and they may be able to help you.

If I'm thinking correctly, that is a rebuilt or replacement powerhead.

I don't have a pic of the cowling handy right now and I'm not sure it's original. It has big embossed lettering "EVINRUDE" and "V6".

If it's a replacement powerhead what exactly does that mean for me? I haven't checked compression yet but it's supposed to be low on some cylinders but still running. Did a quick test with starter and it spins fine.

The model # of that motor is E150TXES YR 1990. I got that from a friend at BRP. Hope that helps. I gave him the # on the metal plug.
