1996 25hp Johnson Outboard motor problem

Bought my boat about 4 weeks ago and it sat up for a few months and I go too put it in the water and it starts up great and idles good and for the first few minutes of running the motors it runs great but at full throttle it seems too die down and pick its self back up and I can let out of the throttle and slowly give it gas and it will do okay until I hit full throttle not sure what the problem is any advice ?

2 or 3 cylinders ??-----Mixing gas and oil at 50:1 on it.----Have you replaced waterpump impeller ?----Checked O-ring on fuel connector ?

If it sat up for a few months, it is very likely your carb needs to be cleaned

+1 on replacing water pump. Should do that before much more running. Top of head should be warm to touch -- to hot to touch is too hot.
