The motor is a 1986 MARS (Military Amphibious Reconnaissance System) MFG. NO. AML35D, NSN 3H2805-01-267-5047. From what I found the equivalent of a Johnson/Evinrude 35hp. The PO (told me he was the original owner also) said a few years ago he took the motor to a shop for carb issues and they had to replace the carburetor (what an idiot). Anyways the carburetor is stamped 339169. From what I found is for a 40 or 50 hp motors that have dual carbs. Could this carburetor be starving me of power? Is this actually a 35hp motor with only one carburetor? Should I replace the carburetor with something else? If so which one?

It was a question I asked in the middle of another discussion and nobody answered so I started a new thread

That is a single carburetor motor.----Marketed as a 30 hp on the recreational market.-----Perhaps some trouble shooting is to be done here.----What size is the high speed jet in this carburetor ?---The 339 number could be a casting # and that does not always indicate the actual part #------Find out why the motor is not performing as I do not believe it relates to the " wrong carburetor " in this case.
