Torn the motor down a while back, and was careful to inspect and torque, but cant remember if there was a gasket or sealer or either one. Now, I am leaking a drop mostly on the strbd bank. The drip is coming from the side that is closest to the head, not the side closest to the plugs.

Doesn't that engine use a bunch of o-rings instead of a head gasket to seal every thing up

the O ring encompasses the bore...NOT the water passages.... there is a "seal" around the thermostat opening on the head.....its like a SEAT actually.... and there is a spot on the head that blocks off a water passage opening in the block....and it usually gets a light film of sealant......or at least ive always dabbed a little there....... because it is OUTSIDE the diameter of the O-ring!!......
