Hello I have the 175 1994 leaker. I found a 1996 225 my boat rated for maximum 235 so this is good. I think 96 and up the leaker problems were resolved? I know mine was the yr they went gasketless and had glue issues. I also get water on plug on top right cylinder. I'm going to ck it out and do a compression test on it. Pleaselet me know your input on this.
Thanks Frank

I think the blocks are different...the 60 degree looper eagle blocks that had issues were 150 and 175 hp v6 versions..... on the 150 and the 175 the blocks are identical until the sleeves go in....

The 175 is a 60 degree motor, the 225 is a 90 degree, the 235 is a crossflow. There is a cubic inch difference in all 3, also a weight difference. I dont have that info in front of me right now, but I think the 225 is something like 472 pounds.
