I want to change my plugs because they got all fouled up from running out a tank of older gas (couldn't drain it, tank is built into hull)...

I have an 1976 Evinrude 85HP.

I currently have Champion Marine plugs but I have heard Champion plugs suck. NOBODY CARRIES NGK in my area (farm town). But I did find Autolite, Champion Marine, and Denso plugs.

Which ones will be the best choice for me? Or which would you choose?

Which is the better plug? Hard to say. Which is the better / correct plug for your Evinrude? Champion.

Your motor was built and designed for Champion plugs. Thats what you should run. Just like Mercs and Yamahas were built and designed to run NGK's. Thats what you should run in them.

BTW -- you can always drain the tank. If you couldnt, your motor wouldnt run on that tank. Old gas is hard on pistons.

Champions only in the Rude...
Now, we'll close this thread and keep the duplicate in outboards, non-repair.
