I've got 1976 55 hp evinrude with 2 carburetors the top one has a fuel line going nowhere that squirts fuel. Any ideas where this fuel line should be connected?

Is there a corresponding barb fitting on the lower carb? Looking at the parts diagram it appears they're connected by that hose.

It has a fitting but it has a fuel line connected to it that routesb back towards the block. I ordered the shop manual but it takes like 10 days. If it helps I can get a pic of the lower carb

Sounds like the last guy put it together wrong. Look at part #35 here. It isn't listed in the table below because it's just a length of fuel line.

Ok that makes sense but now I need to know where fuel line 36 in that diagram terminates. I've got the barb it starts on but it doesn't show where it ends up

I could be wrong, but pretty sure hose 36 connects to nipple 29 on the back of the airbox in that same diagram..
