OK here goes. Boat hasnt been on Lake in a few years but I have started it every year with muffs. Problem was it would bog down and pickup speed back and forth around 4000 rpms. At lower speeds ran great.

I decided to try and fix this year. I replaced the power pack as it was only sparking on 2 of the 4 and it wasn't the cables or coils. I just rebuilt the fuel pump as the diaphragm had some small holes. Motor will start and run with throttle choke on but once choke is removed it will die. It is also smoking bad. White smoke and the I noticed some grey sludge around the propeller exhaust. Where do I go from here?

Report numbers from a compression test.

After you get the results of the compression test, and if they're ok, then it sounds like you be cleaning the carbs soon. Don't do anything else until you get the compression numbers though.
