70hp johnson

i have 2 lower units that both line up on my 70 Johnson the only difference is the impeller one has a plastic chip that locks it in and the other has a woodruff key that looks like a half moon other then that all the gaskets line up an fit the same an the impeller is the same size just a different key will have any problems here?

Okay I read you comment and ask, what is your question? With out more info about your engine as to the year, model, and even serial number, and even the two lower foot units, I can't see if there would be any issues using either one. They both may work, but until we can see what you are dealing with and more info about your engine, it would be only a guess at best. :noidea:

One is an older lower unit and may in fact shift opposite to what you want.-------Other than that little detail just make sure you get an impeller with the proper groove for the woodruff key.
