Will this carb fit my motor ?

I have a 18 hp Evinrude model 18502 I have a chance to buy a NOS complete carb but is for a 1968 18 hp the part number is 278833 so the seller says i look at the diagrams for both and see very little differnce but some, can some one please tell me if this carb would bolt right on and work for my motor.

The book sez 1964-1966 takes carburetor #278402. And 1967-68 takes 278833. So there is a difference somewhere. You can do your own homework from there.

Later carb is the bigger bore carb. Not interchangeable.
