First time, So sorry if I could not find this topic. My engine Johnson 200 ocean pro year 2000, ran great across lake then died, pumped the primer bulb and ran again until it burned that fuel. My buddy had to sit in the back and squeeze the primer bulb all the way back to dock.

The NO OIL light came on also, but the oil tank was full. Gas tank 1/2 full. No air leaks detected. I replaced the primer bulb today and got the same results, runs good then dies.....squeeze the primer bulb and it starts right up and runs.

Could it be the fuel pump? Possible hole in the diaphragm ?

Don't run it like that until you fix the VRO, or replace it, it's possible that it may not be pumping oil either.

NO OIL relates to the VRO not pumping oil NOT the oil tank level.

So you have a VRO not pumping oil or fuel.

Hole in diaphragm, blocked pulse limiter, leaking pulse line.

also bad idea running by constantly squeezing the primer bub, if the fuel tank is not pre-mix
