Evinrude power pack, new aftermarket or OEM used?

I am building a 1984 8HP Evinrude from 2 doners. I have the choice of power packs, 31 year old OEM which has stood the test of time. Or a new aftermarket CDI (made in Germany) pack I realise electronics either works or it doesn't, but which pack would you use? I'm leaning twords the new aftermarket...

Not sure corrosion is an issue, these are sealed units and both fresh water motors

I'd go with the 31 year old. Don't trust these foreign made products.

Plenty of us are running CDI. I probably would run the CDI unless the used OEM is free or really cheap
