I'm not a mechanic and will probably have to go to one, but I have a couple of questions that I haven't found the answers to just yet. This motor has set up for 2 years without being run. It is on a Bass Tracker Pro 17, and I am thinking about buying it. I bought a new battery and have confirmed it is good by hooking up to a known good battery as well. When I try to start it, it will fire and try, but dies. After about the 3rd try, the bendix keeps spinning. I turn the key and nothing. To stop the bendix, I loosen the negative battery cable to stop it. When it stops and I start to tighten the cable back down, the battery terminal sparked and the motor tried to start. As I tightened it completely, it didn't try to start again. Do I have a bendix issue or an electrical issue? Does anyone know where I can also find a wiring diagram for this boat. The nav lights aren't working and all fuses/bulbs are good. Thanks for your help.
