I picked up a 1970 Johnson 9.5 Sea-Horse at a neighbor's for $80 and am hoping to replace the rather beat up and dented prop. The problem is that it doesn't use the grooves like more modern engines and propellers, but uses a simple rod that goes through the shaft and locked into the back of the prop. I have been looking for a while anh have found plenty of props that are meant for the same make and model but they don't have the slot for the rod. Any suggestions?

You need to look for a 9.5 hp prop and not a 9.9 hp.-----The 9.5 hp props are all the same.

Thanks! I don't remember the exact model number but I do know the prop that was on there before was a Michigan propeller model #383315 8 1/2 x 8.
