I have a 1986 Evinrude 120hp...I want to disconnect the the VRO pump...But when I went to disconnect the pump, I saw that the fuel pump was directly in the rear of the VRO pump...I have 2 questions....Dose any know if this is a electronic fuel pump, if so by disconnecting the VRO lead would will it shut down my fuel pump....I'm more use to seeing fuel pumps on the side of the block of the motor....I have no idea about this one....

Thank Mav....

No------ it is not an electric pump.--------The wiring has to do with a " no oil " warning system and nothing else.------The oil side can be disabled and just use the fuel pump side to pump the 50:1 premix.

So the wiring from the VRO pump/fuel pump is for the the VRO pump only....

Thanks Mav

The wiring is for the low oil warning buzzer. The fuel pump and the VRO pump are one and the same, one side pumps gas, one side pumps oil.
Mix some oil in the tank to get your fuel to 50-1.
Run the motor a few minutes to get this mixed fuel in the carbs. (The extra oil is OK.)
Un hook and cap the oil line going in to the pump and unplug the warning signal wires.
You can now run without the VRO.
