200 to a 150 on stratos 189v!!!!?? HELP PLEASE!!!!

I have a 19 ft stratos 189v that has a 200 mariner on it and it has a bad piston and have the opp for a 150 johnson and with a 24 pitch 4 blade prop do you all think it would plane out and be alright!? Its a heavy boat and speed isnt a favtor to me.jus riding good and get on plane. Please any info will be great!!!

The 150HP motor will work just fine on that boat. I believe the prop would need to be changed to something like a 19" pitch. Of course, the year of the new motor would help us to figure it out.

You will need the controls and cables for the Johnson as the Merc box wont work.

Yea i would need a new omc for it and he said it was around a 92 model motor!! Thanks alot guys. Any i fo is very appreciated
