I have a 1998 6hp Johnson. Thermostat gasket is leaking water. Why is Part # 0441066 ( Thermostat Cover Gasket ) no longer available ?
No replacement part listed either. Is there a liquid gasket I could use instead ?

If the parts lookup your using says not available, call your local marina..they can perhaps order it from BRP. I've got lots of 'NLA' parts that way..

Welcome to the world of 4 stroke motors.-----They did not sell a lot of them and BRP is not interested in supporting these motors.----It is sometimes easier to get parts for 2 strokes from the 1960's.-----I would simply cut one from a suitable material.

Yep, buy a piece of suitable gasket material from the Industrial supply store and make a new gasket.....also, grease both sides of gasket when re-installing it and with any luck you may be able to remove it later without tearing it up....so you can re-use it.
