I am looking at a 91 60hp 3cly Johnson.I had a friend tell me to stay away from it because they are noted to have lower unit problems and you can`t find parts.Anyone know anything about that?
I run a 1992 60 hp engine on my pontoon. After 6 months, I upgraded the carbs to the 70 hp version. Very happy with the improved perf from the modified engine. Runs and starts like a chap.
And I think the lower unit on those is one of the better ones out there.-----Ask your friend how he came to that conclusion.-----Many shops will indeed say " parts are not available " when they are too busy to help you.
