2000 90hp Johnson(J90VLSSS). At present am using fuel pump on vro unit ,oil side has been disconnected and am pre mixing . Is there a pulse pump that I could order to replace this one? If so what pump and how to install it . Or should I stay with the vro unit ?

Stay with the VRO pump as they are fine as a pre-mix pump, no need to change.

I had an 87 Johnson with VRO. I wanted to convert it to standard impulse pump since I wasn't ever going to use the oil side of the pump. Getting rid of that VRO pump sure did clean it up. I found that in 87 Johnson only offered VRO. In 88 they offered both VRO and non-VRO. I bought the pump for a Non-VRO. Honestly it was the same impulse pump that was on my 78 Johnson. I retained the plastic fuel tubing as it made a great fuel manifold for those dual carbs. Made the plumbing much easier. Was easy to hook up and has been reliable.

60 degree engines have to stay VRO/OMS style as it plugs into fuel bracket, crossflows are easy conversion.
