175HP Evinrude, does anyone know why a person would put an electric pump by the bow fuel tank on this engine?

Could be because the factory pump couldn't pull that far. They factory pumps are usually rated about 3-6' from the motor max. Or the tank has a bad vent and they put the electric pump in to compensate. Does it connect to the motor line or are they using it as a transfer pump to fill the back tank. Could be a lot of reasons

If so, ditch it and return it to stock. No reason it won't draw that far.
