Johnson RD 22 40HP Starter Part Number Compatibility

I've just acquired a Winter 'project' boat with a 1960 (1962?) Johnson Super Seahorse 40HP that needs a starter - I'm trying to find out what starters are compatible with this outboard as prices vary greatly. I've seen one on ebay that looks possible but would appreciate it if anyone could confirm if part number 378674 is the right one for a starter for this unit? Many thanks!

378674 is the correct number for a 1962. Actually, all the 40hp RD and RK series are interchangeable. You need the correct lower support bracket and flywheel guard to go with whichever one you get. They help steady it so it doesn't vibrate loose.
