Just got this boat, Whaler Outrage with a 150 hp Johnson. Engine runs great but after an hour or so of use it will not start again. We fish in the ocean and will shut it off and drift over rocks, fishing. When we go to turn it back on there is nothing, engine does not turn over or make any noise. This will go on for 30 minutes or so then the engine will start back up and run strong. Water pump was recently replaced and a steady stream of water is ejected from the engine. Any one have any ideas on what could be causing this intermittent problem?

nothing, as in, the starter doesn't even click or turn the motor at all????? if that's the case, I would think it is the stop circuit wire being at fault, possibly from heat.....so id look somewhere on the power head...... just a guess.... you could also look at the shift interrupt switch...... these are the things that kill power to the starter system

Nothing to do with the kill switch or the shift interrupt switch.------Those are spark related items.------Need to look at nuetral switch and all wiring connections.------Salt water and wiring do not get along together.
