Evinrude 70hp 1979 70973R Identification

I just bought a boat that comes with a triumph 70 motor. I was told it's a 1973 but the model number says it's a 1979. The mounting bracket has a plate that reads 70973R. The seller didn't own it long as he bought it at an auction. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

The model number is a 1979. I am not sure they even made a 70hp in 1973.

Correct, a 1973 was similar but only made 65 horses.
