Bought a powerhead in eBay... About a 69 model 6hp johnson. Compression decent, a little higher on one cylinder. Good spark in both plugs, woodruff key looks ok, and carb is clean. The darn thing won't crank even with fuel squirted in the carb throat, or the spark plug holes.
Really baffled by this. Hoping for some suggestions.

Does spark jump a gap of 1/4" or more, yes or no ?-------Pull the flywheel off and inspect the ignition.-------It will have 2 newer coils or it needs a set !

with "good spark in both plugs", do you have the plug wires reversed?..coil closest to carb fires the top cylinder...
