Excessive Smoke and Oil Depleting Fast - 1996 Johnson 25 HP Outboard

Hello,

I have a 1996 Johnson 25 HP outboard which has recently begun smoking (gray or blueish, not black) especially at lower speeds and the oil seems to be draining quite quickly. I filled up the oil reserve to full and almost half of it is gone after about 6-8 hours of trolling. I am suspicious the motor is burning more oil than it needs to, but unsure how to fix this problem. Any thoughts?

The tank and the mixer are to be taken off.-----Then throw that unit away as far as you can.....They are deemed unreliable and you are lucky you have not ruined a fine motor.------Mix fuel at 50:1 and enjoy that motor.
