I'm thinking of replacing the fuel pump with a regular one instead of the VRO which is capped off and not being used anyway. Would anyone know what pump part number I should get? Also having a hard time finding parts for this particular model engine J50TLEOD. Need the carburetor cover gasket ( old one is ripped ) and the gasket that goes on the front of carburetors between the cover and the carbs. It's also in bad shape and could be causing excessive air to enter carbs.

That's a 95 not a 96. Get the fuel pump for a 90's 48 hp. It will be fine. Both gaskets you mention appear to be available still. Go to your local dealer with model #

Is the fuel pump bad or going out to replace it just to replace it is kind of a waste of money

Yeah I'm going to hold off on the fuel pump, may just buy a rebuild kit for it later.

The convention fuel pump mounts to the side of the top cylinder on the port side.----I believe that would be cheaper and less effort than a rebuild kit for the VRO.
