How to find Model & Serial number on Johnson 25 hp outboard with no info plate????

Hello!

I have what I was told is an early 90's Johnson 25 hp outboard. It has electric start and is a non-tiller model. There is no information plate anywhere on the motor so I don't know what the serial number or model number is. It runs rough and I want to rebuilt the carb and need the model number to order parts. Can anyone help?

Sometimes there is a Welch plug on top of the cylinder with the info stamped in it. Other wise post a few pics and someone should be able to give you a carb kit part number for it. Certainly any knowledgeable dealer parts counter could by looking at the carb. There weren't that many different carbs for those
