2000 Evinrude 70hp 4-Stroke - Oil Capacity?

I just bought a rig with a 2000 Evinrude 70hp tiller.

Former owner did not have an owners manual.

Just wondering if anyone else around here has the same motor, and if so could tell me the Oil Capacity for the head.

A quick internet search found it to be 4.5 litres.

I'd suggest you order an owners manual

I think you may find that it is really a Suzuki DF70

I finally found an oil-capacity chart online, and yes, at 4.5 liters you are correct (Which is a LOT. I'm used to putting in 2.2 liters in my 60hp yamaha. Definitely a step up in size/class of motor)

And yes, I believe that motor is a Suzuki DF70 with an Evinrude cowl. Good for me! ;-)

I was going to order a manual, but not sure now.

I know the head oil capacity, the type of oil, oil filter number, and the spark plugs. Anything beyond that I will have to deal with at the time.

You will find a service manual for the DF 70 at http://boatinfo.no/lib/library.html# but it will not necessarily tell you the basic stuff that the owners manual will
