My 27 year old 25 hp Evinrude starts and idles OK. I notice that my lower plug always looks a little more fouled when compared to the top plug. It takes a little bit of opening her up to smooth the motor out. Just like 20 or 30 seconds of running a little rough and than she has good power. When I stop the motor, I notice a small slick of gas/oil mixture on top of the water by the motor. The original carb has never been serviced. I was wondering if my symptoms would be solved by a carb rebuild. Then I thought, well if I was going take the carb off, maybe I would just rebuild a 35 hp used carb and upgrade the intake. I do appreciate hearing from people in the know about this stuff. Thanks for your input.
