Hello iBoat friends....I am rebuilding my 16.5' Sea Nymph fishing boat, and have been "cleaning up" the engine, with the plan to possibly repaint. I need help, it seems the PO was not cautious with oil and greasing cause it has oil and grease everywhere! While cleaning I noted the small square "cover mount bracket" 321673 has oil on it. Now it could have dripped when I disconnected the VRO system, but I wanted to be sure. Is there a gasket behind the cover? I am asking if I can remove this cover without harming anything? I just changed the lower unit oil, and all looked normal! The motor does run good, I have no thought that something could be wrong, just want to be certain....thoughts?

Thanks racerone! I will remove the cover, I assume that the oil I found on the bolts there is not a reason for concern, just needs to be cleaned up.....?
