1979 Evinrude 115HP Stall issue

I have a 115 hp that I just replaced the head gasket, Now the motor is running better and idling on trailer and in the water, it runs very well when it is cold / cooler, then when it heats up it begins to have problems, when you try put it in gear it stalls and becomes a little harder to start. does anyone have any ideas as to where I should start looking to revolve this issue?

You did not state you also replaced both thermostats-recommended. Also, there are two small holes in the thermostat valve body. IF either/both of these two pinholes are not open, one or both sides of the engine will surely overheat.
